Researchers at the National Submissive Alliance have noticed an unexplained and precipitous rise in male submissives in the community named Kevin.

“We’ve not seen anything like it before,” said Martin Jenks, a researcher at the NSA. “Sure there were a Kevin or two from time to time, but we are seeing such a rise in the numbers that, if this pace continues, all submissives will be named Kevin by 2025.”

Members of the femdom community are taking the news well. Mistress Kasandra Kruel told The Daily Flogger, “it makes it easier to remember names, especially when you have a lot of clients. It used to be if you forgot their name you could call them worm or maggot. Now if you say Kevin you are right more often than not.”

There is widespread speculation that there have always been more Kevins in the scene than people knew.

Kevin Montgomery, 54, says he hid his name from decades for fear of “just being another Kevin.” According to Montgomery, “There are a lot more Kevins out there than you know. Most of us took on scene names to avoid confusion, but that is changing as people become more comfortable with being out and open in the lifestyle.”

Impact on the broader lifestyle is still be assessed and the NSA hopes to have a full report issued by early Spring of 2017 giving a full account of what they are now calling “The Kevin Phenomenon.”
