Heather Krisp, 22 and Donna Ekohl, 31, were waiting patiently for a rope scene to end, so they could play at their favorite spot in the local dungeon, The Hot Spot. The scene, which, according to several patrons at the party, “appeared to go on forever” was an elaborate rope suspension which took more than 4 hours to tie. The bottom was suspended for 45 seconds and then untied for an additional 3 hours.
The women, while waiting to play, suffered extreme dehydration and later, starvation, waiting for their turn to play.
“It’s tough,” said Grandmaster Keith, a local Master. “Play space is tough to come by and if you walk away, you lose your place in line.”
Several had suggested snacks or some bottled water, but the rope top in question kept saying “Just a sec, almost done.”
Both women were fixtures in the local scene and will be missed.
Rigger Kevin, the top who was responsible for the lengthy scene said the deaths were “unfortunate” but then added, “but if you saw the rope work you would probably think it was worth it. I mean it was a killer suspension. I guess literally.”
