PORTLAND, OREGON
After seven years of devoted service Master Mick Mantle has released his slave, slave Gina. The decision to release her came, according to reports, during a visit to a local WalMart where Master Mick came across an aisle of welcome mats.
“They were brightly colored and made me feel good about myself. Some had little humorous sayings on them, others were just very understated and elegant. I knew right then it was what I had been looking for. A doormat.”
Slave Gina, who describes herself as “broken hearted” and “a mess,” doesn’t believe she could have done anything to stop the “inevitable break up.” She has found it hard, but realizes she contributed to the downfall of the Master/slave dynamic by “having opinions and stuff” and requiring “food, shelter and affection. A doormat doesn’t need any of that. How am I supposed to compete with that?” she told The Daily Flogger.
It remains to be seen if this will mark the start of a trend. Walmart has noticed a significant uptick in sales of doormats and it seems the Leather community may be the reason why.
“They wore a lot of leather and vests and boots,” one Walmart employee reported, “and the were buying doormats 4 and 5 at a time. I’ve never seen anything like it. Nobody has that many doors. That is when I called the manager, because I thought something hinky was going on.”
Management said there was little they could do. “If people want to trade in their relationships for area rugs and mats, we can’t do anything to change that.” Melvin Brooks, the local store manager said “It’s sad, but what can you do?”
