BURBANK, CA
The newest thing on the streets of Hollywood is a phenomenon known as “Lambing,” based on the now infamous line from the 1991 Oscar recognized film The Silence of the Lambs.
Teenagers have taken to tossing unsuspecting women a bottle of lotion and a basket and screaming the line “It puts the lotion in the basket or it gets the hose again!”
When the women, looking confused, fail to comply, they are doused by a heavy fire hose, or buckets of water, leaving them soaking wet and often exposed.
“I have to admit, it was pretty funny,” said Selma Hullacheck, one of the teen boy’s victims. “But then again I am a stripper, so having a wet t-shirt kinda comes naturally to me.”
Tom Hulley, 17, the inventor of the game described it as “cool and stuff and I get to see girls’ boobs.”
Burbank Police have tried to put a stop to the activity, which they label a “nuisance and public harassment.” State legislators are looking at passing a new law specifically outlawing the practice. But until then, local law enforcement can do little stop the growing trend.
Reports have come in from as far away as Maine and Florida of similar pranks being pulled. It appears that “Lambing” now has a national reach.
